Five seconds left, the score 13 to 15, the Chino Hills need to make a miracle shot to advance to the finals. The team’s best player-Timmy, is about to make the final shot of the game. With them pushing the ball to the other side of the court, the time is draining. Timmy shoots it right before half court and drains a buzzer beater, making the score 16-15. The Chino Hills are going to the finals. During school, the news about the game and Timmy’s insane buzzer beater was everywhere. Though while this was all happening, Timmy’s grades were plummeting. Timmy was called down to the office and was informed about his grades. If Timmy was unable to improve his grades, he would not be able to play basketball anymore.
Later, Timmy has a math test that was multiple choice that he didn’t study for and the test had him completely bamboozled. The best option he had was to guess all of the questions. By the end of the test, every other one of his answers were C. He was pretty skeptical of his answer patterns but he decided to go for it. A few days later and he got his test back it turns out, by some stroke of luck, he got a perfect score. Timmy was astonished by this accomplishment, though he still was a long way off to not be kicked off the basketball team. He also had another test coming up, but this time it was English. English was Timmy’s worst subject, thankfully, one of Timmy’s friends and teammates was a boy named Patrick. Patrick assisted Timmy, studying diligently for this test, and Timmy was sure he would obtain a high grade since Patrick had perfect grades. After Timmy took the test he got it back and scored another perfect score.
Timmy was on fire and— as a thanks- he invited Patrick to practice basketball since Timmy was superior. They practiced for a few hours and both of them went back and forth about school and basketball. The next day, they went to practice and it went extremely well. After the practice, Patrick pitched the idea to Timmy that they should invite the rest of their friends, Bob and John, to play a 2v2 game. During the 2v2, Patrick and Timmy were dominating Bob and John, but they did agree after the game they would study so they went back to studying. The next test they had was social studies, one of Timmy’s better subjects. After they studied, Timmy felt prepared and, during the test, he felt confident that he would acquire a perfect score. After he got the test results he was heartbroken to see that he did terribly on the test. Timmy felt like quitting since his best average just dropped in this class. Patrick and his friends encouraged Timmy to persevere and receiving a poor grade is common.
Timmy was. Timmy listened to his friend and went on to obtain better grades. Unfortunately the marking period was ending and his finals are coming up. He would have to accomplish a high score on all of the finals. On top of that, the finals for basketball are approaching meaning he would have to manage his time practicing and studying. Not wanting to fail, Timmy put all of his might into studying and practicing. He practiced games with his friends, but this time it was 1v3. He made new friends to practice with and study with. He would pull all nighters just to make sure he got the information he needed to successfully earn a high score on his finals. The day finally came, he had to take his finals and play in the finals for basketball.
Timmy was incredibly nervous. His heart was pounding out of his chest and he had a severe headache. His muscles were tight and he was profusely sweating. Thankfully, he managed to get his nerves under control. He set out with social studies first and was doing great, he had a good pace and wasn’t struggling on any of the questions. Though Timmy knew that it would only get more challenging from here. As he got farther in the final, the questions became more and more difficult asking for more specific information. Though he managed to finish his finals without much effort and took a second to breath and calm the nerves as he was now going into English.
As he strolled into English class he prepared himself for another final exam. As Timmy embarked, he quickly noticed it wasn’t going as well as Social Studies, but nonetheless easy. He was quickly breezing through this final, but once he was making good pace he got a
question he didn’t know. It took him a hot minute to figure it out. Once he finished that question he went on but he ran into a few questions he didn’t know but figured it out. Once he finished the test he once again took a breather to prepare himself for science. As he made it to science it began rather difficult running into more problems than English but finished. He once again prepared for his last final, math. He knew this one would be challenging and was nervous. Once he started math’s final he immediately was struggling, he slowly made progress. Once he was finished Timmy was relieved that it’s all over.
Timmy and his friends go on the bus and head for the state championship. As the game progressed Timmy and his friends were cooking the other team. Their basketball practice paid off just like their studying. Once the game ended it was official, the Chino Hills won the State Championship. They celebrated the victory and the next day they got their final exams result back. Timmy and all of his friends scored exceptionally high. In fact, they scored the highest in the school. It was the perfect way to end their amazing high school experience as they head off to college.
