“Where am I?”
One dark night I was packing up to move, and when I finished packing, I put my stuff in the truck, and I started to drive.
I looked on my phone for directions to get to the hotel, and when I was driving, a giant hole appeared in the road. I woke up in a hotel, and I saw someone.
“Hello, my name is Julian,” he said.
“Oh, hi. My name is Ian,” I responded.
All of a sudden he pulled out a knife.
“What is that for?” “I nervously asked.
“It’s for the monsters out to get us.”
“M-m-monsters?”
“Yes, monsters.”
Then I instantly passed out. I could see my unconscious body!
“Am I dead?” I asked myself, trembling.
“No,” he said . “You’re in your astrological form.”
“Wait, you can hear me?”
“Astro form? What is that?” I asked in a panicked voice.
“It’s when your soul comes out of your body.”
I didn’t listen much to whatever he needed to say that time. I was so overwhelmed that I just wanted to know if I can do some other stuff like holding things since I thought I was already a ghost or whatnot.
“Oh, I can move stuff.” This to me was pretty cool.
“Wait, what year is it?”
“It’s 2045.”
“What?! We are already in the future?”
“Yes,” he answered calmly, as if nothing surprising had just happened.
“Are you sure? I don’t think it is.”
“Well, let’s get moving,” he replied, still in his calm demeanor.
Then I woke up in my body. Yes, that was weird to me too. We then started to open the doors. When we got to door 5, the lights flickered.
“What is happening?”
“I have no idea.”
Then I saw IT.
“Get in a closet; it’s a monster!” Julian yelled.
We each got a closet. When we got out, everything in the room was destroyed.
“That monster’s name must be ‘Flicker’.”
“You might be right,” Julian said.
We entered another long room. Fire was all over the place. There were lifeless bodies too.
“What do we do now, Julian?”
“I don’t know, Ian.”
‘Oh no, is this the end?’ I thought.
A Glooper suddenly approached us.
We both looked at each other and said, “Let’s do this.”
We jumped over furniture and finally got out.
At door twenty, I opened the door. The lights flickered again.
“Flicker might be in the closet,” Julian whispered. “Hide.”
We hid. This time, it sounded different.
“Wait, Julian, do you hear that? It sounds different from Flicker.”
We waited until the room was quiet. “I’m going to call him Guard,” I joked.
“Good name!”
We made it to door 30. There were dangling heads from the ceiling. All of a sudden they all jumped down and bit Julian on the leg. We both screamed and ran out.
When we finally got ourselves out, we saw arms on the walls. They looked like they were covered in goop. We made it to a long room and approached the next door, but then a humanoid goop monster came out of a goop pile on the floor. We opened the door and ran for our lives. We saw a blue light guiding us to the next door.
“A guiding light!”
The glooper was still chasing us. We ran, and giant goopy arms came out of the windows.
“There’s a door!” I yelled. We ran inside and shut it.
Glooper banged on the door. Finally, after a few minutes, he gave up.
At door 45, Flicker came at us again, but we escaped.
We finally got to door 45. It was a library. Inside was yet again, a monster. It looked like a demogorgon. You could see its ribs! It stood up on two feet. He roared and ran to a bookshelf, and it fell over.
We found a desk with a piece of paper that says:
GET OUT OF HERE TO LIVE!
We found a book.
“Hey, looks like some combinations!” I suggested.
The combination was 1-5-6-8-2-3-0-1.
We read the combinations out loud and heard another noise. Out came another monster selling some stuff on the wall.
“Hey, Jeff. I wanna buy that cross thingy,” I calmly said.
“Jeff?” Julian whispered.
“Yes, he looks like a Jeff,” I whispered back.
“Here you go, Jeff,” I said as I was paying him the amount for the purchase. “And how about a tip?” I added.
We were at door 75 when we saw a weird kid with red liquid coming out of his mouth. He went chasing us from there. When we arrived at door 80, I pulled out my cross.
“Begone,” I said.
Blue chains wrapped around him, and was sucked into the floor. Luckily, I bought two crosses.
At door 90, everything was dark. So Julian pulled out the candle that he bought from Jeff, and we started to walk. But then the candle blew out.
“Hide!” Julian said.
“Get in the closet. I will go under the bed.”
It was Flicker!
He pulled Julian out from under the bed.
“Heeeelp.”
I came out of the closet and used my cross. Julian fell from the ceiling.
“Julian!”
I went to aid him but he was gone.
“No, no, no.” I said.
“Don’t leave me.” I cried.
I picked up Julian’s backpack and kept moving with tears in my eyes.
I held out his candle and made it to door 100. The demogorgon was there!
It was chasing me. I picked up 3 fuses along the way and ran towards the electrical and put them in the panel.
I ran into the elevator but the demogorgon jumped on it. Luckily, it never made its way in and fell.
I pulled out a bag of chips from Julian’s bag and started to eat them.
“It’s over, Julian.”
The elevator opened to the ground floor. I got out safely.
I just sat there, tired, and then cried myself to sleep.
I’ve escaped but then lost a friend.
