I am going to be straight to the point here, I do not read a lot of books and I am not really a topper in school but I am an average student, so you’re probably wondering why would someone who doesn’t read books or isn’t a topper enter this competition? Well it’s because I like to write, I don’t really try to write books but I wanted to write an essay for a random competition I found online just by pouring my heart and soul into it.
Well since I am just 14 I have not gone exploring to too many places and you are probably thinking that I have no experience with life, well you are kind of right. You see my mom is a Christian and my dad is a Hindu, and normally in a place like India being Christian is considered “weird” for some reason, so you probably think I have experienced lot of bullying in my life and I just consider myself Hindu, well you would be wrong, because throughout my life I have been very open with my religion, I am both. I have never experienced bullying because of being half Christian, and I hope I never will, but I know one thing if I do I won’t sit quiet and be pushed around because throughout my life I have learned that we need to stand up for ourselves and not be pushed around.
So again I am gonna say it you’re probably wondering why I titled the essay this, well it’s because I know some people probably get bullied in parts of the world for their religion and I used to think that the world is just a corrupt and bad place, but I have learned that not every place is bad, there is good everywhere in the world you just have to find it and even if you think there is bad in you there is good too, so back to the main point, me personally I have had my experiences that prove to me how much good there is in the world, and I wanted to spread the message that if you think there is only bad in this world then you are completely wrong, there is always good you just have to find it.
So let me get back to the main topic, my experience with life, so I am currently at the ending of my 9th grade. I am from Hyderabad, Telangana but I am currently living in a residential school named Good Shepherd International School in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, this is my first year in this school. I was in a school called Kalpa School from 1st grade to 8th grade, in my home Hyderabad. So let me explain to you why I randomly decided to join this school and let me tell you it was random, you see my father used to study in this exact same school when he was in school, and I have a brother who is currently in 12th who joined this school in 11th grade, and my parents thought that if I am gonna get sent here at some point I should at least go when my brother is there for some guidance. You probably are reading this thinking that is the only reason I joined this school well that would be wrong, you see that is one of the reasons I joined this school but another there is another main reason. You see currently I am in the Middle Years Program (MYP) but in my old school I was in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), and lets just say after the coronavirus I was not doing too well in certain subjects, I was getting decent and above average marks in some subjects but I was failing in the others. And my parents thought that MYP would be a good and interesting change for me.
Now, let me tell you a bit about myself, I am around 5’10 and I am 72 kgs (last time I checked), so yeah you’re probably laughing at how such a small kid can be so fat well let me explain, so I have been playing football since I was 6 and I am not gonna exaggerate I was pretty good at it by the time I was 8 and I was definitely improving over the years. So you’re probably thinking if i was a footballer and I played a lot and was good how am I fat? Well you see in early 2020 lots of people were getting sick and the coronavirus was officially confirmed and given the name Covid-19. Well because of that the entire world went into lockdown, meaning online school and yes no sports. You see I used to eat a decent amount of food every meal but I used to burn that off in sports, so I remained fit but after the lockdown, no sports but the food still came so as you expect I started gaining weight. My football classes started a year later but only for a short time as covid was still very viral. So, I kept gaining and gaining weight and even after the lockdown I have to admit I became lazy and when my classes started again I didn’t go but I was more conscious about my weight so I started eating less. Now since I have joined this school I have been losing weight and working out a lot, we have daily sports, daily workouts in the morning for the whole week, and I have to admit even though its hard I am very happy to be working so hard and losing weight, Our school provides us zero unhealthy food except 2 chocolates a week which I have been avoiding eating, there is a farm in school, from where all our food comes from, which makes me be able to eat a constant balanced diet for the entire time I am in the school. i
