BOOM! All of the glass in the house shattered. She didn’t know what happened. When she ran down the stairs she saw a dark figure then, POOF! It disappeared. She didn’t think anything of it at the time she convinced herself she was imagining it, but boy was she in for a treat.
After she picked up all the glass, she went into her room and relaxed. As she was watching television, It glitched out, and the same dark figure appeared saying,
“I am coming for you.” Layla was very tired so she thought she was just seeing and hearing things. The next morning, she was walking to her car, when she got a bad feeling, but brushed it off and continued to work. When Layla got to work they had the news on and it was explaining that a painter’s painting was stolen from the museum. She thought that it was stupid and murmured to herself, “This painter is probably a hundred years old, why do we care about him?” Little did she know that she was going to regret saying that.
When she turned around, the dark figure was staring right into her soul. She screamed and everyone came running into her room, but when everyone got there the figure disappeared. Now everyone thought she was crazy and that she just wanted attention. She was so embarrassed so she went home. When she got home her house was covered in paint. She noticed something weird about the paint; the paint colors were the same colors used on the painting that got stolen. When she finally cleaned everything up she called her mom but she didn’t answer. She didn’t know what to do so she drove to her mom’s house. When she got there she ran to her mom and told her everything that happened. Her mom called the police right away. They came straight to her house and when they got there they said that they had had multiple calls over this. The police stayed in the neighborhood for the rest of the week and nothing happened. They didn’t know what else to do. They were about to give up when her phone rang and it said an unknown caller. When she answered the phone she heard the dark figure’s voice saying “You will never find me”. She screamed into the phone “Who are you?!” but the person had already hung up. The police heard her scream and came to the house. They tried to trace the number, but since it was a short phone call they couldn’t. The detective decided to stay and wait for another phone call.
Five hours later, after waiting around for what felt like forever, the detective told her to call the number back so that they could try to trace it. He tells her to keep the person on the line for at least a minute so they can trace the call. She looks at her phone, finds the number, and dials. What happens next is a shock to them all.
She calls the number. A voice picks up. The dark figure’s voice. She talks to him and asks him who he is and why he keeps calling her. He tells her “You already know who I am, but that’s besides the point”. She asks him what he wants from her again, but he just laughs. He starts to speak, but she interrupts him and asks again who he is. He answers, “Do you promise not to tell anyone”? She agrees. As he is getting ready to say who he is, the line disconnects. Luckily, the detective said she had him on the phone for a minute so they could trace the call.
They turn to look in the device that says where the call is coming from, and it says “125 Woodberry Ave, Chicago, Illinois. She screams and drops the phone to the ground. That is her address.
The detective calls his partner and his partner shows up at the house ten minutes later. They search the whole house, but nothing is found. As they get to the last room, they have no hope of finding anything or anyone. When they walk into the room, they see the dark figure towering over them. They yell for the figure to come to them but it suddenly disappears. They realize that they aren’t dealing with a normal person. They are dealing with a ghost.
The detectives call in a team of paranormal investigators. They arrive at the woman’s house the next day and begin their investigation. They start searching around the house when suddenly the lights go out and fog starts to appear. The dark figure appears and the investigators try to catch him but they are just too slow. When the lights come on the investigators don’t remember a thing that happened and they don’t remember why they are at this house.
They ran up to the girl and asked what they were doing at this house. The girl was very confused too. The fog must have wiped their memory and hers! They decided to keep the girl out of her house for at least a week so they could do more investigation.
A week passed and the investigators found nothing, so it was time to move back into her house. As soon as she stepped foot into her house she knew something was wrong. Hours later, the dark figure appeared. ” It is time I reveal myself.” The dark figure said,”You know who I am and you have hurt me, but it’s time to show you who I am.” She stood there in shock. ” Three… Two… One..” It was the painter whose picture got stolen whom she also bought the house from.
“You changed my childhood house so I had to get revenge.” With her mouth wide open the lights turn off when they turn back on the painter is gone and never to be seen again or so we thought.
